Leadership Development – Failure; the first step to success!

Milo on Jul 31st 2009

Like the title states, failure is the first step to success.  I know that sounds strange and wrong but it is the truth!  You can’t become successful in ANYTHING unless you fail at it first.  Failure is one of the key elements to achieving success.  Just ask anyone that has achieved any level of success.  Whether it is in sports, music, entertainment, business, parenting, being a spouse, education, …….., they have failed at it at some point.

To really bring this point into focus for you, read this quote by Michael Jordan.

I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. ”

Here’s one by Napoleon Hill; “The majority of men meet with failure because of their lack of persistence in creating new plans to take the place of those which fail. ”

Finally, Abraham Lincoln; “The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just. ”

See, some of greatest leaders understand that failing and moving on from that failure will ultimately lead to success.

Failing is so important for you to do.  It builds character, it shows your character, and it creates a learning experience that you can use to move on and achieve your success.  Failing at something really checks your character.  Do you have the passion and vision to brush it off and move on?

Look at ultra successful business men Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki.  Both of them lost multi-million dollar businesses and rebounded to become industry leaders.  Donald Trump was almost $1 Billion dollars in debt!

As I hope you can see, failing is a good thing.  It really helps us grow and makes us relate-able to others.  It is a learning experience, one that is invaluable, and can be used to fuel your passion to achieve your success.  Embrace failure.  Don’t go seeking it but seek your success and let the failure come so that you can grow and move on.

If you don’t fail, you haven’t done anything!  I hope that makes sense.  You see, you need to try something or do something in order to fail.  At times, it takes stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new to achieve your success.  With that comes set backs and failure.  But stay the course, keep your vision strong and in front of you and you will succeed!

Did you know that most people are afraid to start a new business or seek a new job because of the fear of failure?  Think how our economy would look like if most people were entrepreneurs instead of employees?  What would it take to achieve that?  People overcoming their fear of failing!

I’m no different than anyone else.  I have fears and failures.  I choose, though, to embrace my failures, learn from them and move on.  I have a clear vision of what I want and my failures won’t stop me, they may delay me a bit, but I won’t be stopped!  Do you have a vision?  Are you ready to step out and work on achieving your success?  If so, don’t be afraid.  You’re in good company.  We’ve all been there and will continue to fail.  I can help you.  Go to my website www.emaginebg.com.

Quick Visual Measurement of Your Site Copy’s Top Keywords: SEO Metrics

Milo on Jul 25th 2009

Your Online Business is NOT a Game….

number-one-candle-XSmalland measuring your site’s SEO effectiveness is imperative to dominating your niche. Assuming you’ve actually identified your niche…. (It’s also important when crafting the copy and I’ll explain in a minute…)

SEO measurement is not a closely guarded secret. Hordes of SEO “consultants” and gurus, as well as long-time SEO savants freely offer dozens of solid strategies for analyzing the keyword strength of your site(s), as well as the key pages of your site that should be amplifying your strongest terms. (Hit the SEO sweet spot and you potentially outrank all your competitors for your keywords.)

But this morning I tripped on a new tip, from Web CEO—a very VISUAL way to evaluate your site’s strongest keywords:

“If your site is not particularly large, you can create a text file that includes all of your important content. Use a tag cloud generating service, such as those available at http://www.tocloud.com or http://tagcrowd.com/, since these will allow you to conduct a quick, visual test of the idea search engines will get about your site content. If you see that your main keyword phrase is captured as the largest and boldest of the words, then you are on the right track. The same test can be applied to each of your important individual pages as well as the logical site divisions that share the same subtopic.”

from, SEO MixTour from Web CEO, In the Labyrinth of Words Give Search Engines a Clue

I’ve worked with clients that provide everything from granular demographics on target customers, including keywords and lists of top competitors sites, to those with nary a clue or even a concern. The core keywords and keyword phrases are vital information and I’ve urged clients that hire me to write web copy to share this information regardless of the nature of the copy project: informational copy, conversion copy, landing pages, corporate pages, press releases, articles or what-have-you….the copy is a key component in a successful SEO mix, no pun intended.

Bing Indexing Some Real Time Tweets

Milo on Jul 24th 2009

Microsoft’s Bing search engine will start indexing some Tweets in real-time. This will make Bing the first major search engine to do so. In a post on the Bing community blog, Microsoft’s Sean Suchter said the company would highlight new Tweets from a select group of people in both the “search technology and business sphere” and also from those with “more general consumer appeal.” Already, search engines like Bing and Google index Twitter posts, but the results are not constantly refreshed.

When Microsoft relaunched Live Search as Bing earlier this month, it said it was looking into ways to incorporate Tweets in the search engine’s user experience. Although it had given no indication that it was in much of a rush, saying that there were many ways to define what “real-time” results actually entailed. Since then, however, Google has given signs that it is on the verge of launching some sort of microblogging search offering that would index content from Twitter as well as other microblogging sites in real-time. Results would also be incorporated into Google’s main web results.

Microsoft emphasized that it was not indexing all of Twitter in real-time, only the Tweets of a “few thousand people” based on their follower count and tweet volume. And, indeed, the examples that Microsoft provided indicated that the Twitter results will show up independent from the main body of entries, much like the instant answers that Bing surfaces when someone searches for the weather or a sports score. Users will also have to search for someone’s name as well as “Twitter” or “Tweet” or “@” in order to see the results. That seems to take away a bit from the value of the feature, since many people search Twitter to get a sense of what’s going on at a given moment on a certain subject. But Suchter said in the post that it was just a start. “We think this is an interesting first step toward using Twitter’s public API to surface Tweets in people search,” Suchter said.

Both these guys have a big role to play in the transformation of this planet, and we could sure use their help. Gregg Braden was the leading speaker for me and for anyone wondering what he does so well, pick up a copy of his book ‘Fractal Time’ and learn what the new world will start to look like.

So from 20 degrees to 40+ in Phoenix the NSA Convention was a great experience. Being a speaker I am cautious not to criticize others but these things are always a mixed bag and it never ceases to amaze me that at the top level there are still those unprepared and unprofessional because of it. There were 2 standout speakers for me. Jim Ziegler is a $3m a year plus speaker who focuses on running workshops for the Automotive Industry. His hat said ‘Da Man’ and he was. A no crap approach to how to make sales in the speaking profession. How to get people in a room and how to keep them engaged with you for years.

The second guy was Bill Cates who spoke on getting referrals and gaining upsell potential. His message was know who you want and ask very specific questions and add heaps of value so any upsell is unquestionable. Both these guys were great. Next I am off to Vegas.

Lessons for the week:

- Ask for exactly who you want when it comes to referrals (Bill Cates)

- Trust your intuition and everything will work out for you (Vincent Barra)

- Do nothing in your business that isn’t first class (Jim Ziegler)

Employ Offline Method to Promote Online Business

Milo on Jul 21st 2009

Make use of Offline system to Promote Online Business

When you hear the word web marketing, you would typically presume that everything from transactions to communication, payments to refunds, and such like, all occur in the World Wide Web and nowhere else. This type of trend has been going on for years now and to such extent that folks from all around the world are actively purchasing and selling through online marketing and all of its fields and categories in order to make a stable passive revenue on the internet. But lately, especially with the use of outsource services and automation these days, there have been cases where people are able to earn money offline but provide a selected kind of service that they might have an interest in online. The offline factor points to the customers themselves, in which real adverts are being employed to attract them to the sales page or site for more information. This idea is not just a good way to save up on costs for internet services but can actually expand one’s business in all ways : offline and online.
If you’re considering how to employ offline method to promote web business, it’s actually extraordinarily possible and is even slowly becoming the hottest Internet promoting trend today. How so? Let’s look at it through an example : because of the financial crisis plaguing the country, a large amount of entrepreneurs ( those that own actual corporations like cafes and stores ) are having a difficult time keeping their businesses running and are spending a lot of money on advertisements and agency services. They are especially aiming for a site to market their businesses online but are impeded in finishing the exchange by the dear charges most web designers are imposing on them. So you can imagine how valuable you can be to these people if you provide them with all their wants for just a few hundred dollars a month. You only need some critical tools to employ offline method to market online business : data on internet marketing ( PPC, SEO, etc ), outsource services, and good communication skills. If you are able to pull all these things off, you can already earn as much as $10,000 every month and not have to sweat too much on the hard work.
So what actually takes place when the internet site is finished? The adverts are still ready but with the new website posted as well. Once customers see that there’s a internet site and some contact numbers, they’d visit the site and read what the business is actually about. If interested, the buyer can sign up in the mailing list and will receive email updates such as events and promotions going on in the business, breaking open the break of earning hundreds of bucks through a few emails alone.
It is really a very easy process and very possible to expand and grow, but it also takes good people abilities and the power to assure clients that they’re being offered a larger deal than what the advertising firms and web designers are actually offering to them.

Are Opt-in Pages Stealing Your Affiliate Commissions?

Milo on Jul 21st 2009

Are Sales Page Opt-ins Destroying Your Affiliate Commissions?

There are more than a hundred internet marketing businesses running actively these days with folks trying to earn a stable revenue online . One of the hottest trends is to become an affiliate of Clickbank products and to sell these to interested customers thru a sales page. But naturally, with such a robust competition and lack of knowledge on a way to effectively sell these electronic products, a large amount of net marketers tend to lose the will and the resources to keep on selling as they encounter problems and issues concerning the products they sell, the links being used, and such like. For this article, the issue whether sales page opt ins are an element of decreasing commissions will be discussed to provide understanding and understanding as to how this internet marketing tool works and how one can really benefit from it.
As everyone knows, the job of the associate is to sell the product thru a sales page to customers on the web. The sales page would normally contain the content introducing the product, the link that will lead them back to the main website where they can buy the product, and of course an opt-in list for the purchaser to receive mails and updates with regards to the product. These choose ins are generally coupled with freebies and bonuses that the customer can avail of, so by entering their emails in the opt in box they aren’t only enrolling for the bonuses and e-mail updates but crediting your page for commission. But the issue raised here is whether or not the affiliate still has a role in the business if the purchaser simply opts in without basically purchasing the product. Will that decrease one’s chances of earning commission?
The truth is affiliate marketing systems as well as Clickbank websites track the referrals of their associates thru cookies and the IP address used, in which the former would usually be saved into the computer not less than 60 days at the most. So most likely if the customer makes a decision to opt in to the contact list of the vendor, the ID of the associate will be identified and the sales will be credited to his or her account. Though there is no assurance that the client will purchase the product, the indisputable fact that he found his or her way to the mail list thru the affiliate’s’s sales page will indicate that the commission will still go to him or her and that he or she will continue to be paid months from now.
But naturally, there are certain probabilities that you as the internet marketer would lose commissions if there are opt ins on the sales page. Supposing the customer comes to a decision to opt in into the mail list but makes a decision to try the product a little later. If she or he erases all cookies in the PC or makes a decision to use a different browser to buy the item, then probably the commissions won’t go to you.

What are Content rewriters

Milo on Jul 21st 2009

What are Content rewriters

If you are a Web marketer and still making an attempt to become used to the trends of online companies, most likely you’ve faced all sorts of new ideas and suggestions in forums, blogs, and other online sources related to online marketing. And in these sources, you may notice that most professional internet marketers would discuss about different secrets and web marketing tools that they would use to increase web traffic, conversions, and at last real sales of their own products on the web. For this article, we shall be speaking about one of the most interesting tools being used, particularly for the content of sales pages, blogs, and web sites, which are the article spinners. If you’ve never heard of an article spinner before, then continue reading because this might be your ticket to skyrocketing sales and bursting traffic.
A content rewriter is essentially a writing software that rewrites and tweaks the wording and structure of sentences to produce different and unique copies of an original article. Not only that, it is ready to keep the message of the original article in all the copies it can produce, which makes it a productive tool when trying to post several articles in different blogs and web sites. Internet marketers who do not have the time and the energy to reproduce, rewrite, and post numerous articles in their blogs and websites would simply use content rewriters to do the job. It isn’t only convenient but reasonable as well as compared to hiring ghost writers to do the job.
So why do Internet marketers need to make so much content? Writing good articles and blog articles is generally the key to earning plenty of money through online marketing. By being able to come up with wonderful content, you are discreetly yet at the same time effectively advertising your products to customers who can only read about the products being sold on the web. But as mentioned before, writing and re-wording can take a large amount of time and effort on the marketer’s part, so they use content rewriter software instead. Another reason why they use content spinners is actually because submitting one original article to numerous directories can be detected by search engines like Google, surfacing the possibility of just one of your articles being linked to the entered keyword and leaving out all the rest in the subsequent three to 4 pages. This lowers down your odds of gaining more traffic, and of course, more sales too.
But take note that not all content rewriter software being sold online produce well-rounded rewritten articles. There are those that don’t function well or are basically fake software being sold by fraudsters to earn money out of you. Just remember that with the correct tools and the right way of using this kind of software, you’ll be able to supply prime quality rewrites of your own articles and have them submitted and posted in all of your websites and blogs without each one falling behind in the search result pages.

Hot News From The Online Revolution

Milo on Jul 21st 2009

Last week I was pleased to host a teleseminar about the new online world of blogs and social networks, otherwise known as “Web 2.0”. It was presented by my friends James Burgin and Jon Ward of Brandwithin. What struck me most about the presentation was the extraordinary marketing potential of these new online phenomena. Once you know some basics about the new Internet, you can quickly build brand recognition and drive tons of qualified traffic to your web site. I discovered how important it is just how you position yourself in the “worldwide conversation” and I also picked up some great technical hints on how to drive more traffic quickly. We recorded the presentation by James and Jon, so you can still hear it – and follow the accompanying notes – at the ProVision web site (http://www.provisionwealth.com/seminars/Details.asp?Seminar_ID=16). Be sure to listen soon, as the recording will only be available until February 22nd. If you have any product or service to market, you definitely will want to tune into this new information. It’s a real revelation.

Warmest regards,

Tom

Economic Recession – How to stay afloat in the whirlpool of the economy

Milo on Jul 21st 2009

I just got back from a nice vacation.  I love vacationing.  Going somewhere without stress, without having to deal with the regular troubles, without having to be stressed out about life.  I think I need another vacation!

Anyway, I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday and learned that he got laid off.  He worked for the same company for 20+ years.  Knew everything about the business and industry, just really invaluable to have as an employee.  The way the story goes is that he was on vacation (his really sucked!) and got called into the head office, which was close to where he was vacationing.  The let him go right there, while on vacation!  To top it off they offered him pennies of what he legally get in severance.  I feel really bad for him and am praying for something good to come out of this.  The reason he was let go was due to the down-turn in the economy.  They were closing his branch so he had to go.

So how do you avoid this?  What can you do to be impervious to changes in the economy?  What does it take for you to be safe and to ensure the safety of your family?  The answer is simple yet may be difficult to execute.  It takes planning and tenacity to achieve but anyone can achieve it.  It takes having a student’s mind and willingness to learn.  It takes finding mentors and learning from them.  Do you think you can do all of those things?  Do you have what it takes?  Are you willing to change in order to ensure that you can pay your bills and create a life for you and your family?  Most people aren’t willing to do these things.  Most people aren’t willing to pay a price to do this for themselves or their family.  Most people think they do but when things get tough they quit.

So what is the information that you need to recession proof yourself?  Multiple income streams!  This seems elementary, and it is, but it takes work to make this plan reasonable for you.  Most families already have more than one income.  But can you survive if one of you loses your job?  This is where having more than one or two sources of income really makes a difference.  What if you had five sources of income that generate $1000 each per month and you lose one, what impact would that have on your situation?  Some but not as significant as if you only had one source of income that generates $5000/mo and you lose that!

The next portion of this is what types of income streams are available to you?  Most people have a job and I encourage you to keep it as there are definite benefits to having one.  I’m suggesting that you start a business that will allow you to have your job and earn extra income.  There are a lot of different ones out there.  There are traditional franchises that work this way but cost a lot of money to buy and run.  You can create a new business but that usually takes a lot of time and money to get going.  You can sub-contract to an existing company doing something from home.  This is good but takes some time to develop the clientele.  Lastly, I suggest looking at a network marketing business as they are designed for this reason and you can make good income from them.

There are a vast number of business opportunities out there at a reasonable cost.  I highly recommend that you really research different ones and their opportunity.  There are a few key elements that you should focus on.

  1. What is their training program/mentorship program like?  Do they spend time training you?  Are they willing to invest in your future?  What is their track record (that particular group or business center)?
  2. What is the compensation plan?  Can you make money retailing the product or service without having to sponsor X amount of people into your business before you can make anything?
  3. What is the person like that you are talking to about this?  Do you trust them?  Are they honest?  Do they have integrity?
  4. Can you do what they are asking of you?  Does it make you uncomfortable?
  5. Can you use the product yourself?  Do you believe in the product(s) or service(s)?  If you don’t you won’t be able to make any progress with them.

It sounds like a lot but you probably intuitively ask yourself them anyways.  So, have fun, do some soul searching and make some good decisions!

Make Money Via Local Google Search

Milo on Jul 21st 2009

This is just one of the many ways to make money with the Internet. It might take some time to learn and master, but it is very easy to do as long as you are willing to put the time into it. I guess we can say that about anything.

Local search engine results is something many look past because of the global reach the Internet brings. It is much easier to think nationwide or global rather than local. If you’re like me, you have used Google to find restaurants or local stores in your area. I have searched for Hauppauge Chinese restaurant or Italian or whatever. For that phrase there are about 20,000 results. A good number to stick with for a niche term is under 40k. You can use any method to build pages that will get ranked, (social networking will work just fine) you can easily get on the first page of Google for that three word phrase. There are many ways to accomplish that.

If the search results were over 40K, it would be tougher… but on the other hand, if there are 5,000 results then you will probably achieve all 10 results on the first page. Ok, now what? For your local cities, pick a phrase and take control of the first page of Google. Then promote a fake Chinese restaurant. Where the name of the restaurant would go, you call it “Your-Company-Name Chinese Restaurant.” You can also setup links to restaurant guides to help with linking. You should also link to your website where you describe your services.

Next, you contact all the local restaurants. The best way is to go down in person and show them what you have done and what you can do for them. Explain how their revenue can easily increase (look up facts on these numbers) by being on the first page of Google. 60% will not look past the first page of Google is very important.

You can also take this one step further and not charge anything until you can get them on the first page of Google. What can you charge for this type of service? You can charge a one-time fee, but I like to build monthly clients. I always felt that is the smarter way to go. But of course that is up to you. $97/mo I feel is a great place to start and even offer a better deal for paying 6 or 12 months in advance.

You can also go another route and allow a pizza restaurant to get the Chinese food listing. This can easily drive the price of your service up with the additional competition.

There are roughly 20,000 cities in the US alone and there are many categories (Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Irish, Sushi, Buffets, etc.) That’s over 200,000 potentials. Then of course you can go after stereo shops, fitness centers, dentists, you get the picture.

Again, this is just one of hundreds of ways to make money utilizing the Internet. It all starts with understanding basic Internet marketing and learning how to get high rankings. It is very easy to get high rankings for niche markets. I have gained the top spot on Google in minutes using certain techniques. But, in this case, going after niche markets… everyday marketing techniques will work. It just comes down to you being creative in the service you will provide.

You wouldn’t ask a plumber for advice if you had a toothache would you?

So then why would you listen to someone’s advice on making money when they haven’t made any?

It just doesn’t make sense does it? But I get it all the time: “So and so told me not to get involved with this and that because they said it won’t work”.

Worryingly the usual suspects are normally those of your closest family and friends.

Now I’m sure they try to mean well but unfortunately they are just misguided in their efforts or just plain wrong; unless of course they have extensive special experience that can be helpful to you or they have already shown they are successful entrepreneurs and you know from past experience that they are supportive of your ideas.

But that’s rarely ever the case.

Unless you choose very carefully, your “expert” may have absolutely nothing from which to base their opinion about your idea, even if they are successful in their own profession.

How much do your friends and family know about Internet Marketing? Or what it takes to pull in over £70,000 a month? Think about it.

I’ve experienced this first hand from my own parents. Mum would always tell me to be ‘realistic’ whenever I shared with her my dream one day of being extremely wealthy and retiring at 30.
The conversation would invariably end with them telling me to to ‘stop dreaming’ and concentrate on getting a good education.

It wasn’t that they weren’t supportive of me, they just didn’t want me to ever be disappointed and that was their way of protecting me as parents do. They didn’t know any better.

But here’s the problem. You won’t find a teacher arriving at school with a £100,000 car -and it’s more likely that they own a semi-detached (with a mortgage) then a £1 million pound penthouse. They work 9 to 5 with someone always telling them what to do but these are the people who are teaching us?

I remember visiting my branch manager when I first started out in Internet Marketing. He simply could not understand how self employment worked, they’re just not on the same wave length, and it’s completely alien to them because they get a pay packet every month regardless of how they perform – unless of course they’re sacked.

So why then would we seek advice from them when they have no real experience of business in the real world?

In fact my bank manager actually suggested to me not to get involved with Internet Marketing as he could not see it as a ‘viable business’

Here’s someone with absolutely no experience of running a home based business telling another person they shouldn’t start the business of their choosing. This manager had never operated a home based business, never earned a million pounds and has no concept of financial freedom – because he won’t ever experience it unless he gives up his job.

So how the hell can he give business advice? Think about it.

We have the freedom to choose and yes it’s good to listen to the advice of other people – but ONLY when they KNOW through hands on experience, what they are talking about. Like I said earlier, it’s much like asking your plumber for advice on your bad tooth.

If you only wanted to know how to live an ordinary life, by that I mean the usual of living in a semi on a housing estate with 2.5 kids and a couple of holidays a year to Benidorm and maybe a company car then expect sound advice from a bank manager. He knows exactly how you can reach such levels.

And that’s because of course it’s pretty much what a manager’s life is like.

But also consider the lifestyle of other people whom you might choose to seek advice from. Are they living the lifestyle of a bank manager or the lifestyle you aspire to?

Going back to teachers for a minute, consider what they teach us. We are driven to get good grades, go on to take further education, maybe university so we can get decent qualifications.

Why? To get a good job (and good grades doesn’t even guarantee that these days)

Then for the next umpteen years we should strive for a promotion in our chosen careers we until we reach the top…then retire at 65 if you’re a woman and 70 if you’re a man. And for a few more years, we can collect a pittance in pension…if there’s anything left in the kitty by then that is.

That is unless you break away from the system.

So the bottom line is this: Be careful who you seek advice from, remember free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

If you have a toothache – speak to your dentist.

And if you want to make money from YourNetBiz? I’ll speak to you soon.

Keywords density

Milo on Jul 21st 2009

Step 2. What is the keyword density ? How can I have the right one for my website ?

The keyword density tool is useful for helping webmasters and SEOs achieve their optimum keyword density for a set of key terms. Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site’s theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly (too low and you will not get the optimum benefit, too high and your page might get flagged for “keyword spamming”). This tool will analyze your chosen URL and return a table of keyword density values for one-, two-, or three-word key terms. In an attempt to mimic the function of search engine spiders, it will filter out common stop words (since these will probably be ignored by search engines). It will avoid filtering out stop words in the middle of a term, however (for example: “designing with CSS” would go through, even though “with” is a stop word).

Try to see what is your website keywords density by using this tool :

Have fun.

Hello Everyone

Milo on Jul 21st 2009

Hello and Welcome to My Blog,

I decided to start this blog after I lost my job in Corporate America as a Senior Manager.  I was employed by the same company and was very dedicated for 13 years.  My goal is to help others enhance their lives by reaching their own goals.
I am a mother of two beautiful children and a wife to a wonderful husband.  I was recently laid-off from my Corporate America job after 13 dedicated years.  Imagine how devastated I was when they told me… we are down sizing and there is not a position for you in the new organization.  I am sure my mouth hit the floor.
Since I was laid-off, I have done a lot of thinking about what I want to do moving forward.  There’s obviously no reason to dwell in the past, because I cannot change it.  Well, I decided what is important to me is to reach out and help other people.  There are several families that are struggling in this economy.  Do we really have to be?  I strongly believe that we can make a difference in this poor economy that we are living in.

Expression of Advice: Walk for 10-30 minutes every day while smiling. This is not difficult to achieve and it helps me to focus on the positive things in my life. Try it! IT IS AMAZING!  Note: A wonderful friend of mine sent this list to me and I will share it with you.
