Xmas time is a fantastic moment for school children; they have heard the terrific tales of Mr and Mrs Claus and the reindeers and the special day of the 25th of Dec. In the build up, primary school children are on toy websites and in shopping catalogues searching high and low for the very latest and most sought after toy for them to add at the top of their shopping list. At primary school and nursery the number one discussion is what video game they will be asking Santa Claus and if he can deliver them lots more action figures than their neighbours.

Every Christmas time the market researchers and toy shops start making their predictions about what board game will show themselves as the number one greatest seller for that Xmas. In past years Britain have registered the Nintendo DS and the Tamagotchi coming in at the top.

One of the popular toys is from the excellent Ben 10 range. Ben 10 is an animated series from the States and is about an American boy called Ben who finds a fantastically strange alien wrist watch item that attaches itself onto his wrist and delivers him with terrific alien powers. With his special powers, Ben helps others as well as get into some fun mischief with Ben’s little cousin Gwen. With the outstanding success of the cartoon series, a full range of terrific children’s action figures have been created, these include action figures and tents.

Another fashionable seller this Xmas period will be kids board games, one of the most world famous being Monopoly. Mainly based on the economic idea of a firm owning everything in their market, Monopoly is an awesome board game that is so popular that 750 million people have played the family board game. In its excellent 100 year lifespan, Monopoly has seen it move into a website game format, video game format and even an Apple iPhone application.

Whilst biggest selling predictions are informative the real sales numbers will tell us what action figure was the largest seller this Xmas time. Christmas is a busy period for all retailers, however the busiest is always Toy Shops
