When you write articles you should do some search engine research before you ever write the article or articles. Doing the search engine research first will give you a lot of help when you are ready to write the articles.

I write articles for my own use and I use a nice little trick to get a lot of traffic without ranking particularly high for any one term. I may get 1000 hits per day on the article but there may be as many as 700 different terms that page was found for. Obviously not a high ranking for any of them.

Do your search engine research and get your keyword list. If you have the skill to write a 1000 word article you should be able to get twenty or more search engine terms in. Lol, I let google tell me what they want by looking at the related searches. Also, reduce your 20 terms to the most common words and then make sure you use all of those words several times in the article.

It’s a simple system that works well for keywords without a lot of competition and even for some with lots of competition. Oh, you might also be able to get 20 links to other pages on your sites and a high PR on the page you created.
