on Nov 7th 2009
The history of America is unfortunately tainted with slavery and institutionalized discrimination. These atrocious practices have since then been abolished, but the prejudice behind them lingers and continues to exist today. Discrimination is largely prohibited by society, but it is still practiced by its members. With the diversity of the American population comes animosity between groups of different cultures. These days, it’s widely looked down upon to openly declare prejudice. Everyone jokes about claiming to be a racist to dodge jury but no one actually does it when jury picking begins.
