Though having a boy dress up as a girl is probably a pretty common idea for home made Halloween costumes today, it was not quite as common when we were growing up. I took what I could find in my room to make him into a very convincing looking little girl. Because he was only eight years old at the time, the only thing that I had a problem with was his hair.

He was sporting a shaved look and I did not have a wig for him to wear. I had plenty of everything else to go with his home made queen of hearts costumes however, and he looked funny enough to crack up our cranky bus driver, whom we had never seen smile before that moment
