Don’t Get Left Behind – Video Marketing is the Future of the Internet
yongchen on Aug 5th 2010
The size of the internet is unknown to most at this point – but suffice to say, it’s ridiculously huge. Each year, since Youtube arrived, the popularity of videos has grown by significant numbers. Unfortunately, most people probably spend more time watching mindless videos than they do reading a good book. Most people enjoy the entertainment value of videos, plus they’re just easier to deal with and learn from. Net people have become horrendously impatient, and that’s a good thing for videos. Videos are a natural for marketers to provide content and various marketing material to people. Apart from that, you can also post your videos on your website to get more sales. Marketer use video for the same purposes as any other marketing tool, but it can be much more effective. So we’ll explore that in more depth so you can have a better idea about how to use it.
Videos tend to educate the viewer and that’s one of the plus point of video marketing. It is a fact that we now live in a society where people would rather watch a video than read (maybe because of TV?), videos already dominate the search engines and are on the rise so including them in your marketing efforts and as part of your products will only help. All you need to do with your videos is to get lots of “good” traffic is to make them as targeted towards a niche as possible and include information that is both interesting and informative. Pre-selling is a lot easier and effective with a video. Pre-selling is a very effective means of “warming up” a prospect before they click-thru to see your sales page. If done right, pre-selling through videos can shoot up your conversion rates. It works so well because pre-selling builds a relationship between you and your prospect, informs, and highlights the ways that your product can help. Also, pre-selling shows the viewer that your intention is not to hard sell but to instead recommend a product that could be helpful to them. If you are not a big business then most people want to see, or at least hear, who they’re doing business with, by using videos, you give them what they need to start buying your products.
It’s quite easy for videos to be spread virally, and that’s one other thought that should be considered. All viral means is word of mouth advertising via the internet, and it can make for unbelievably huge amounts of traffic. Having something become viral can turn you into an overnight sensation – but it’s very difficult to predict what will become viral.
You will not become an expert overnight. But you can speed up this process through the aid of videos and make your site stickier in the process.
