Many times individuals will do things involving debt that affects their credit score without realizing the fact. Some have so many different credit cards from their favorite department stores which offered a high credit limit on those cards to entice people to make purchases.
Many people have a number of credit cards that they never use not knowing they will appear on a credit report and can have a negative affect on credit scores.
This happens because lenders notice that you have many different sources of credit and for them that might be one card too many to allow you to borrow even though you have not been using the credit.
The other problem with having too many accounts is there is the chance that you might forget to make the necessary payments on them simply because it’s too much to manage. If you’re overwhelmed by debt consider debt settlement.
You should close any accounts not being used unless specifically needed for financial planning.
