Just cool off with your friends. If they are your real friends, they will understand your decision to quit drinking and they will support you with that move.

Just a little precaution, some of the above mentioned tips are only good for those who are not addicted yet to alcohol. Those are people who can last a few days or even weeks without drinking. But for those hard drinkers and for those who drink alcohol on a daily basis already, then self-treatment may not be an effective option.
